Alloy Steel

Alloy steels are created by adding alloying elements like molybdenum, nickel, copper, chromium, or aluminum. These elements enhance the steel’s strength, ductility, corrosion resistance, and machinability. A common alloy steel sold at Express Cut Metals is 4140 steel; it contains molybdenum and chromium. Common applications of alloy steels are gun barrels, hand tools and gears and shafts.
